New app is awful. The radar isn’t readable. Old app, especially the radar was sooooo much better!! Newer isn’t better!!

Weather forecast video is in portrait orientation only, no longer rotates to wide screen. Thought it was my phone but turns out they updated the app. Now all you can see is a tiny picture.

This has been my weather app for years but the latest version is way way too crowded.

The latest update was a giant step backwards. In their rush to monetize the app they made it much less user friendly to the point I use different apps even though I’m a Jax resident. The weather information is compressed to make room for the adds and the user interface is lacking. The beauty of the former version was its simplicity and readability.

The new radar in the updated app is not nearly as good as the old one. Does not have as much detail or longer range predictions. Not easy to use.

The last update ruined a great app. Why does the radar not work outside of the US anymore?

The large icon covers so much of map it’s hard to tell if my location is near current rain fall. Since my home is near channel 4 the over lap really obscures rain fall near me. Tried to change the icon but that option is not available on the app.

This used to be a very helpful app. Very user friendly. The new version isn’t as nice, and now every time I open it I get a pop-up ad for satellite radio. So frustrating when you just want the weather.

Does not rotate on ipad cannot find storm tracker, lightning or earthquakes in radar. :(

This app used to be great. The radar picture was perfect. Now I can’t get the RADAR portion to work and if it does work it is not accurate. Please change this back!

I used this app for all of my weather needs until this last update. It is terrible now. It is not user friendly what so ever. I really hope it goes back to how it was very soon otherwise I am going to be forced to continue to use the Action News Jax app for my weather needs!

I wish folks would leave well enough alone. The updated app is AWFUL!!! The radar at one time showed so many great features and now......I just wish you left well enough alone. If I want to see someone give the forecast I'll watch it on my tv or computer not my phone. I now use another service (app) and I have a suggestion....allow folks to decide if they want to update the app or use the so called "new" app.

I’ve been so Happy for years with the last version. This update doesn’t clearly show where storms are in your area it used to show cloud rotation, lightning, etc now it’s a cloud with a lightning bolt and red , yellow etc telling you the severity by color . and if this update has it where is it ? It’s not easy to understand and looks not as nice as the last version. This is not a update it’s a downgrade.

They ruined a great weather app for northeast Florida. Moving on to another app. Cya

This used to be a good app. Would give alerts about when bad weather was near & when the updates from when meteorologists would come in. Now there’s nothing. The last alert I got said “farewell from this app.” Have you guys been hacked or something?! Whatever it is, please fix it!!

This USED TO BE a well-designed useful weather app. I could use it anywhere I went to get predictive radar for the upcoming 6 hours which was very helpful. Now, with their “upgraded” app, it’s overcrowded, broken, and pretty much a small version of their awful ad-stuffed website. WHO thought this was a great idea and approved this?!?? I sure hope that they didn’t pay for this hideous abomination of an app. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD APP!!!!!! You totally ruined a good thing! A weather app only needs to do one thing and do it well… weather!! I would give this version negative 100 stars if I could.

I used this app every day for years. The new update is horrible. Radar is unusable. Now I have to find something else.

Had such a hard time figuring out the app after the update. Overall the app is ok but the radar is not like it use to be. The older version was much better than this one. Radar has glitches often and I have to close out and reopen.

I’m definitely not at all impressed with this new update. Even on my android phone there’s problems. The app just doesn’t work the way it used to, the forecasts are always not right, except maybe the temperature. It used to alert multiple times of rain headed towards your location, now it only alerts once if you’re lucky. Or it will alert for an entirely different area than what’s programmed into your locations. The new lighting alerts are ridiculous. Only one alert when lighting is within 15 miles of a location, but doesn’t give any advanced warnings if lighting is moving closer to your set location or not. Forget getting alerts on the iPad too, they don’t exist, at least on my iPad they don’t.

Well this new version is terrible. Not close to accurate . The old version worked just right. Why fix something that’s not broke?

WJXT recently changed their weather app in June 2024. What used to be an outstanding weather app is now “just another” weather website/app. Not impressed. Now searching for a new weather app.

Was a great , accurate, easy to use app but new update is no good.

I’ve used this app for years but the new update ruined it. It seems like the team wanted to make everything in one place. The startup screen just looks ugly. The prediction of how the rain is going to move (futurecast) doesn’t even work. The rain can currently be moving west but when you go to a future time, it will always move straight east. The shape of the rain doesn’t change and the colors remain the same. All of the map overlays (lighting, earthquakes, etc.) are in a much worse spot. You have to go to the little cogwheel at the top right. Where they were before, on the map (and a relatively big button), was a better design choice. This is especially true for older people who don’t click on tiny icon or don’t want to search for something.

Whomever's idea it was to change the weather app needs to back up and re punt. Terrible upgrade. The old app was very user friendly for all age groups. Why would you change a perfectly usable app to something like this?

This was a great weather app before the recent update. I have relied on it for years and recommended it to many people. Now I’m searching for a replacement and so are friends and family who were using it. The UI is terrible, the radar is terrible and the hurricane app has declined too. Keep getting ads when I try to see storm details and have to start over. Whoever thought it was a good idea to replace the great app with this should be fired. Hoping I can find an app similar to the old one. Wish I could give zero stars.

I loved using this app and did for several years. It recently updated and it was awful so I deleted it and downloaded the Weather Channel. It’s way better than the new updated News4Jax weather app.

The old version was extremely easy to use and very good enough I used it more than the weather channel’s version especially around hurricane season. This new version is cheap and just heavily cluttered with ads and what options there are now lack horribly I don’t need two apps to check for hurricane conditions the old one did just fine with a friendly user face. Please backpedal on this update/ downgrade really….

I use to like this app until the new update . I would check this app a couple times a day not anymore . The new radar is useless. Liked the old version .

I moved from Middleburg to the west coast and always kept this app, now this new app is horrible. Please bring back the old app!

Radar is horrible, it’s more like animation instead of reality. The old radar was much more accurate and you could drill down to the street level. I want to see a detailed written forecast that I can check while out in public instead of playing a video. I assume this downgrade was an upper management decision to save money and a very poor decision it was. I used to check this app several times a day. I had waited till now to delete this app in the hopes that this awful version would be backed out but it appears that is not going to happen.

The new update is awful. When you click on alerts the page is blank. The old version was way better. Now you don’t even get a written forecast. It’s just all together terrible. I used to use this app multiple times a day and now I’m looking for a new weather app. Please change it back.

Used to be the best weather app. Now the look is cheap, it’s harder to navigate, AND it doesn’t work on my phone. The app closes itself when I try to look at the radar. Deleted and got another app

I can’t stand the new update. The radar isn’t correct. I have location on and the radar shows the rain at least 20 minutes away from house even though it’s raining, the old app was maybe a couple of minutes off. It’s also confusing & not user friendly. You need to fix it or give us the option of old one.

Need to bring back the old app. It was much better. Notifications don’t work and the radar isn’t anywhere as good as the old.

Bring back the old app. I updated the new app and then deleted it. Too bland, missing the old zing. Sad since I sold the old app to all my friends since it was the best. Now it stinks. Back to looking for a new app. Breaks my heart, I really relied on the New4Jax weather app. All day ever day, no more 😞😞😞

They changed it. I hate it now so I deleted it.

App was great, I used it everyday, then they did a complete overhaul on the latest update. New format is slow and hard to navigate. I guess I’ll find a new weather app. 👋

The newest update is absolutely not user friendly!! I get alerts that pop up on my phone, when I click on them it takes me to a blank page. Saying I don’t have any alerts! The radar does not help to understand how long the rain will last. And as we are now in hurricane season, this is so frustrating! Beyond disappointed!! Please fix this!!!!!

Old app great. THIS UPDATED APP STINKS !!!! Must have been designed by one of the news anchors.

I loved News4Jax weather app until….the recent update. It stinks now, hard to find information that was readily available before, not user friendly. No UV index and the future radar only shows a few hours. Unfortunately, I’m going back to the Weather Channel app after this update, so sad!

Used to love the app but really don’t like this new one. The feel of this one is off and things are not easily found. Just generally don’t love the way it looks and navigates now 😩

The redesign looks awful and has far fewer capabilities than the old one. No more lightning, wind, or storm overlays. Just Doppler. It says you can get location based alerts, but I haven’t gotten a single one since the update. I’ll be glad if those dumb write ups stop getting pushed via notification, but the rain and severe weather alerts were helpful.

I don’t like that it’s vertical , narrows everything . Second it’s miserable to navigate . The old app was straightforward and easy to use and it was horizontal . I don’t know who designed this , they did a poor substitute for previous app. I see there is a lot of negative feedback , so I’m not the only person that thinks this is a bad app .

App was amazing until the latest update. Guess I’ll have to find a different app. 👎🏼😒

Bring back the last version. The new version is terrible. The future radar feature just moves the last frame across the screen. Awful

This latest version no longer supports landscape mode on my iPad. This makes no sense. Give me back the previous version.

The new weather radar is not as good as the old App. The new version shows a crude stick map with animated clouds. The old version had aerial photos of the ground with the actual radar image of the clouds.

I loved this app until the recent "upgrade". I would check it several times a day. One of my favorite features was the written forecast by one of the local meteorologists - now the written forecast is the typical out of the box one or two lines with no personal or local touches. The radar was easier to use and more accurate on the older version. The ads are too numerous and too easy to accidentally "trigger". I tried to adjust to this downgrade for a few days but unfortunately I'm going to have to find a new weather app and remove this one.
